Grace Kim has always been an exemplary Korean American Christian girl. However, when her mother suddenly dies, she shuts herself off from the world that she believes betrayed her. As her doubt begins to outweigh her faith, Grace is no longer interested in appeasing her minister father and the Korean community which attends his church; and realizes that salvation comes not only through religion, but also from knowing one's self.
