Tie a Yellow Ribbon follows three Asian American women struggling to find their identity within America's predominantly white towns and suburbs. Made by Korean adoptee American filmmaker, Joy Dietrich, the film seeks to raise awareness of a critical yet often ignored social condition-that Asian American girls have the highest rates of depression of all racial/ethnic and gender groups in the U.S. Among women aged 15-24, they have the highest suicide mortality rates across all racial groups. Tie a Yellow Ribbon hopes to offer this under-served community of Asian American girls a voice and ultimately ease their sense of isolation. 411 on TIE A YELLOW RIBBON, and to view production stills and a teaser visit our website at www.yellowribbonmovie.com
