Mazel Tov, Julia Cho!
This picture is of a young man who got drunk at my friends, Julia and Ed's wedding. I am not kidding. He only wanted the good stuff -- the champagne. A man of refined taste, once he had the hooch, he wanted nothing else, and somehow managed to slurp enough down while his mom and grandma weren't looking to get smashed. Ah, Korean men...
Perhaps if he were around tonight he would have raised a glass to Julia for the following reason.... (And from me, please imagine me making a virtual toast to you, dear Julia! You've earned every bit of all of this...!)
The Claire Tow Award is presented in honor of Long Wharf Theatre Board Member Claire Tow. The award recognizes a young theatrical artist of extraordinary promise, Julia Cho.
Ms. Cho is best known locally as the playwright of Long Wharf Theatre's 2004-2005 production of BFE.
"Julia Cho is one of the most gifted writers of her generation," Edelstein said. "Her dramatic imagination and basic human empathy push her to the top of the class."
