Maybe Jesus Wouldn't Mind...

that I snapped this photo of the always effervescent Ms. Deborah S. Craig and theater impresario William Finn... Deborah was even awesomer (sic. yes, i know "awesomer" is not a real word, but for Deborah, it oughta be!) than usual, if that's possible, in last Sunday evening's performance of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on Broadway. You lucky Californians can catch the show (and the amazing and hilarious Ms. Craig) when it opens in the LA Area this spring! deborahscraig.com

Rest In Peace John Light

It is with a heavy heart that I type this. In my mind, this is the unthinkable.

Dear, sweet John Light passed away this past Tuesday.

I went to the last part of his memorial last night in Brooklyn, NY with my friends, Carol Little, Wendy Ip and Nathan Lee.

It -- like the man, his amazing wife, Fati Light, his wonderful family, parents, Anne and John, and sister, Deanna -- was beautiful.

I remember thinking when I first met Fati; wow, she is so beautiful that between her and John, I'm not quite sure which one of them is more beautiful. I think the final answer was that they just both were, inside and out...

Unfortuantely, Nathan never got to meet John. Wendy asked him what he thought. I liked his answer so much, I'd like to share it:

After seeing the slides and meeting everyone and hearing what they had to say about John, it seems the world has had a great loss.

I think this is so very true.

God bless you, John, Fati, The Lights and all who were lucky enough to love him. You will be greatly misssed, John.
