Reggae Michael Jackson?

Not something I would think to do... (I am definitely more ska, less reggae.) But it was quite enjoyable!

Steal This Post

Knife and Fork's recent show at the Abbie Hoffman Died for Our Sins Theatre Festival XXV was all about the food, food, baby...  In all its glory and how it affects us - better now struck me as  performance art meets theater in an anarchistic setting. I'm sure Abbie would have been proud.

Kasey Foster's Old Timey Band!

From dancing to/choreographing dances to the music of Mr. Bungle to singing standards with her new band, Old Timey, Kasey Foster does it ALL with great pluck and aplomb! She is no joke, though quirky and hilarious - all at the same time. If you closed your eyes you might have thought a contemporary of Doris Day or Rosemary Clooney had taken the stage. Foster has such good pitch!

Her band and the guest musicians were also great. It was a fun show that even included trivia questions and gift-wrapped prizes!

The always entertaining, talented Becky Poole https://www.youtube.com/user/MEATbecky/videos sat in with her musical saw and sang. I took the snapshots below with my phone, so it's a little expressionistic, but you get the idea... https://www.facebook.com/OldTimeyMusic

Amanda Ross-Ho in Chicago!

Talented fine artist Ruyell Ho [http://via.library.depaul.edu/oral_his_series/32/] told me to go to the  Museum of Contemporary Art to see his daughter's new work. So I did! He said that his daughter was much more famous and successful than himself. I told him that my mom is much more famous and successful than me, so I understood. He was very proud of Amanda. It was so sweet. And fun to see how art gets passed on from one generation to the next...
